In addition to providing educational programs, JAAF has worked towards raising salaries for Florida Judicial Assistants to be competitive with other government agencies and the private sector. Through joint efforts involving our legislative consultant, JAAF, the Chief Justice, and the Office of the State Courts Administrator, pay raises have been secured for Judicial Assistants throughout the years. The Office of State Courts Administration continues to provide support and cooperation in education, pay issues, and benefits. One of the most important benefits Judicial Assistants receive from the State of Florida is low-cost healthcare premiums (single or family coverage) and free disability insurance.

Why should you pay for a legislative consultant?
Judicial Assistants statewide need:
- A voice in Tallahassee! Someone with experience working hard on OUR behalf to ensure that OUR best interests are voiced and protected!
- To be in the know about any legislative changes that can impact our benefits and salaries. Our legislative consultant has been instrumental in maintaining our low-cost medical benefits. She is currently working with state legislators to include Judicial Assistants for exemption from public records. We need to keep her working for us to continue to maintain them. To do this, we need your help!
To do this, we need your help.
A small donation of $40.00 per year IS RECOMMENDED BUT ANY DONATION IS Appreciated!

JAAF’s legislative consultant, Alison Dudley, attends the JA Conference annually to provide legislative updates to the members and is our voice in Tallahassee. She describes what happens during the legislative session and the efforts she makes on behalf of JAAF. This is especially helpful in educating all the new JAs attending the conference, so they have a better idea of why we have Alison representing JAs statewide. Pictured here from the 2024 JA Conference are Alison Dudley, JAAF Legislative Consultant, and Eric Maclure, OSCA Court Administrator.
